I love learning about the principles of safety and helping others not to be frightened of implementing them.
Outside of work, walking, kayaking and my wife’s amazing cooking are some of my joys in life.
Co-Founder of Safety in Work. After Dan and I got married, we worked together to grow a cleaning company. My forte was to organise the contracts, take bookings, talk to the clients and raise two big boys.
As for my pass times, I too enjoy walking and kayaking with Dan, but love cooking and getting lost in a good book.
We ran our own business in Ireland for over 30 years. Health and Safety compliance was obviously needed to run the business. I enjoyed learning, researching and implementing all that was required.
When others found out that we were able to do what was necessary, they would ask for advise or get us to do it.
They felt it was too much and too involved for them. Often not having the time or mental space to run their business AND figure out health and safety! So we set out to understand and simplify the unknown. I took a number of courses to understand what is involved in applying health and safety in the workplace. This is what led to becoming a mentor to small businesses where we look at options as to how the owners themselves can take control of their own health and safety and therefore take away or at least reduce the stress and fear of implementing health and safety in their place of work.
We now operate from the UK covering H&S needs in Ireland & UK.
